About the Author

MICHAEL HENTY is a native of Syracuse, New York. He graduated from Liverpool High School and attended Oneonta State University to study for a degree in Education and Child Psychology. During his second summer home from college he opened his first gymnastic school and never returned to Oneonta. He has produced state, regional and national champions over the past 30 years. He has served on the Junior Olympic Coaching staff for the Untied States Gymnastic Federation and is presently a teaching professional for the United States Professional Tennis Association. In 1983 Coach Henty also became founder and president of Champions For Life Inc. which is a non-profit organization with the mission to develop virtue and character through sports.

He has always had a love for writing and found a way to share his belief that sports had a spiritual purpose through a series of published articles. He has finally begun his life long dream of becoming author with his first book: Go For God's Gold. Meeting Someone Special is a children's book that will be his next with a fictional sports series planned for the future based on over a quarter of a century of experience working with young people.

He presently lives in a log cabin in the heart of the Finger Lakes of Central New York. He still remains president of Champions For Life Inc. which operates a 50,000 indoor sports complex and 160 acre recreational park and retreat center. His desire in working with young people is that they develop the God given talent to become all they can be as an athlete and as well as a person. His goal for each participant is that they will become a CHAMPION FOR LIFE!
